September is in full force! Enjoy the last blasts of Summer, change in the air, and pay attention (pause) as we transition into Fall! We celebrate many of our students’ birthdays this month! I spent mine practicing the “pause” – you know – as in the musical “note” REST beat. While Pilates keeps us very proactive in movements we crave – from our ‘diamond’ centers, it is equally important to tap into “rest.” Joe Pilates writes about it, “Contrology exercises emphasize the need for this constant stretching and relaxing.” There can be “REST” in movement – in fact – that alone will connect you to your deepest core muscles/self.
So we do BOTH. Come learn about this “ART of Pilates” with an intro FREE EXPRESS MAT class this Saturday September 14, and stay for a short presentation of this principle of STRETCH and RELAX.
