As the holiday season quickly approaches, we remind you to “Try” Pilates and remember to BREATHE! It is stunning to realize how vital and efficient our movement patterns and our very lives can be! November is a reminder that 37 years ago I coughed so hard I cracked a rib from chronic bronchitis, pleurisy, and yes, smoking cigarettes. Through the grace of God and willingness to go to any lengths, I am nicotine-free today – and as God would have it – we help people move and breathe better in their lives! What a GIFT!
Pilates helps us be proactive in movements we crave – from our ‘diamond’ centers – many call it our powerhouse. It is equally important to tap into “breath,” and as Joe Pilates writes, “Above all, learn to breathe correctly.” Breath alone will connect you to your deepest core muscles/self.
