What is Apparatus April and why does it matter?  First and foremost, Pilates is a system using ALL the apparatus: Mat (yes, this is considered an “apparatus”), Reformer, Tower, Cadillac, Low Chair (otherwise known as Wunda Chair, High Chair (otherwise known as the Electric Chair), Wunda (archival) Straps, Barrels, Spine Corrector, Pedi Pole, and all the props! Pilates has become a well-known word in the fitness world, and in the process the original work has gotten splintered and filtered.

From the time TriPilates opened it’s doors, our purpose has been to remain true to the beauty and power of Classical Pilates for everyBODY. That being said, when for whatever reason a student is better served to move with the support of a different apparatus or even a different exercise, we do that. We’ve seen a child as young as five, teens, young adults, pregnant moms, new moms and dads, professional athletes, sports enthusiasts, dancers, runners, non-athletic folks, de-conditioned and rehabbing people, various medical conditions, all the way to 92 years old! There is no one set exercise for all these unique and beautiful humans!

An important aspect of Apparatus April is that MANY of the exercises or “shapes” or “patterns” of them repeat themselves in various ways within the Pilates System. As teachers we do our very best to help everyone connect body, mind, and spirit to themselves. Our belief is that how we practice Pilates, our intentions, commitment, persistent, attention, and concentration on precision, control and centering is exactly how we do our lives! Our hope is that you use this Spring time of renewal to, as Joe Pilates describes it, “Return to Life!”  Hence, our theme, REVIVE 2025!
