Flashback to being a stay-at-home Mom with four kids and loving it, knowing my calling was and still is to help more people. In fact, I told my osteopath who wanted to hire me to travel and sell online acupuncture tests twenty years ago that no, my vision had three criteria:
Help People (service of some kind)
Health and Wellness
Make My Own Hours
As many of you know, the Grand Opening of TriPilates fell on my 50th birthday, never in my wildest dreams would I have thought teaching Pilates would meet those criteria – I was simply enjoying taking private lessons. Pilates made me feel connected, calm, energized, stronger – everything I needed to face each day. When you truly find something worth sharing with others, it can be a natural progression. What about you? Teaching has transformed lives and anyone who has learned to teach will tell you the same. Are you ready to share and learn more about teaching Pilates?
Fast forward ten years, suddenly finding myself a widow and empty nester, which was not MY plan, for sure. One of my students told me about a game, she was being kind and suggested it as a way to have more fun! Stress was manifest as a lack of sleep and let’s just say my nutrition habits weren’t the best! I decided to jump into the Whole Life Challenge and have been loving each and every one since, so we started our own team right here:
Challenge starts July 13 – 6 weeks, 6 daily habits, happier YOU, support from US! No one has to do it perfectly like other “diets” or programs, it’s been a life-saver for me to lighten up on myself and through the process…my self-care has improved. After all, if we don’t take good care of ourselves, we have NOTHING to give to anyone else.
“True ambition is not what we thought it was. True ambition is the profound desire to live usefully and walk humbly under the grace of God.” – Bill Wilson
No matter what, count on me to show up for the plan. There is freedom in movement – or as Joe Pilates writes, “You are only as young as your spine is flexible.” My personal journey of skiing, waterskiing, rollerblading (started at age 40), yoga practice of over 30 years and Pilates for almost 20, has created a burning desire for MORE. My various continuing education courses are simply an effort to embody more, never knowing exactly who it might help, including me! Each and every exercise, lesson, or class is my gift to share from a place of service – how can I help YOU? #movemore is our theme this year for a reason! Every single day my goal is to empower YOU, to be aware of your own movements!
My second business of sharing Rodan + Fields meets ALL the criteria – helping people, health and wellness, make my own hours – and is another natural progression of love and service to others. After all the stress I had gone through, I wanted my outsides to match my insides! I can’t tell you how many people comment, “you are aging backwards!” or, “look at those lashes.” So grateful for yet another opportunity to help people change their life! After all, even Joe Pilates said, “Scrub your skin so the pores can breathe!”
What blocks you from finding freedom? Time? Money? Injury? Fear? Circumstance?
We help people! My goal is to share my experience, strength, and hope with it ALL.
Freedom is about choosing the good, which is LOVE.
Love what you do and you won’t work a day in your life!
