BREATH

Remain steady no matter what, even if you are shaking a little bit! Joe Pilates describes it as, “The first act of life, and the last.” The more we challenge ourselves in movement and in life, the more BREATH awareness is required.
Fear of the future can be a habit, as much as regret of the past. Our goal is to teach Pilates to help you stay present, remember to breathe, and help you find core connections. This is quite possibly through heart pumping, muscles shaking movement!
February is heart health month, and a season of LOVE for ourselves and others. Remember, your diaphragm is a muscle and it massages your heart! Joe Pilates writes about  beneficial effects that “Contrology” (Pilates) exercises have on your heart action:
1. Unnecessary pounding or throbbing of your heart – done in an reclined or seated posture to relieve undue strain.
2. Correct breathing that not only reduces heart strain, but purifies the blood, and develops the lungs.
3. SQUEEZE every atom of air from your lungs, oxygen will then impact your bloodstream…
Those points are paraphrased from p. 21-23 in “Return to Life” by Joe Pilates, describing the “internal shower” – or warmth from the inside out – the shaking up of new blood flowing through your heart.
TriPilates will stay the course to serve YOU and help YOU know, feel, and move with more freedom in your body and in your life. Let 2023 be the year of FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT, even if your small muscles shake a little bit – you will find more strength from the inside out.
